Senate Approves New Chief of Engineers
LTG Flowers Retires; MG Strock Assumes Command
The Senate confirmed the nomination of Major General Carl A. Strock to become the next Commander and Chief of Engineers, U.S. Army Corps of Engieers. The appointment comes with a promotion of Lieutenant General.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will bid farewell to its Commanding General, Lt. Gen. Robert B. Flowers, who retires after more than 35 years of service, during a traditional military ceremony, 10 a.m., July 1, at Fort Myer, VA. During the ceremony, Flowers will pass the Corps flag to the 51st Chief of Engineers, Maj. Gen. Carl A. Strock. The traditional hand-off signifies relinquishment of command by the out-going commander, and the assumption of command by the in-coming commander. Strock will then be sworn-in as the new U.S. Army Chief of Engineers. [ return to top ]
