Senate Approval of Water Resources Development Act Reauthorization Package Delayed
Despite efforts by Senate leadership to complete action on reauthorization of the 2007 Water Resources Development Act (WRDA), final passage of the bill has been pushed back to September.
Late Friday night, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) asked for a Unanimous Consent (UC) agreement to proceed to the conference
report for WRDA, schedule four hours of debate, and
then vote.
Unfortunately, Senator Russ Feingold (D-WI) objected.
Consequently, without a UC agreement in place, the Senate will work to move WRDA again in September after the Congress returns from its recess.
