Time is Running Out to Register for the AGC Holiday Gala!
Friday, December 11th, 2015 at the Westmoor Country Club

The AGC of Greater Milwaukee invites you to join us at the exclusive Westmoor County Club in Brookfield on Friday, December 11, for our 2015 Annual Holiday Gala, benefiting the AGC Education & Research Foundation.  Start the festive season off with us and enjoy hand-passed hors d'oeuvres, an elegant four-course meal, and music and dancing until midnight!  Do a little holiday shopping during our Silent Auction, and help benefit our local students in construction studies at the same time!  All proceeds from this event go toward scholarships at UWM, MSOE, and Marquette University through the E&R Foundation, and your contributions are tax deductible.  Time is short, so we MUST have your registrations no later than the end of the business day on Monday, December 7th! To register, contact Kim Jalalian at kjalalian@agc-gm.org or (414) 778-4100.

This is one of only two events held throughout the year to raise funds for this worthy cause, and we would not be able to do so without the generous support of our members and sponsors!  We'd like to thank all who have sponsored and donated to this year's event!

AGC and Sage Begin Surveying Members for Annual Outlook
Help AGC Generate a Comprehensive Outlook for 2016 by Taking the Survey Today

Each year around this time, AGC asks you -- our members -- to predict what next year will be like for your business. This year AGC has partnered with Sage to prepare questions that focus on expectations for market performance, hiring, labor market conditions, etc. Please take a moment to complete the survey. We will spend November and December asking members to complete the survey. After that, we will work with AGC's chief economist, Ken Simonson, and the team from Sage to analyze the results, which we will release in early January to the media and members. As in the past, we will also prepare state-specific outlooks for every state where we have a sufficiently robust response. Thanks in advance for all your help and support, and please contact Brian Turmail with any questions.

Medical College of Wisconsin Picks CG Schmidt for $55M Professional Office Building

The Medical College of Wisconsin will break ground on a $55 million professional office building adjacent to its existing main structure in spring 2016 and has selected CG Schmidt of Milwaukee as construction manager.

The Wauwatosa medical school also said Monday it hired Flad Architects of Madison to lead architecture and design and The Concord Group of Milwaukee as the college’s owner’s representative.

The new professional office building will be at the Medical College’s main campus in Wauwatosa and is scheduled to be complete by fall 2017. The total construction costs are estimated at $55 million to $60 million.

The Medical College announced plans for the project in June and initially estimated the cost at between $70 million and $79 million.

The 225,000-square-foot building will be six or seven stories tall and located on the north side of Connell Avenue between the college’s medical education building and Wisconsin Diagnostic Laboratories. The structure will house up to 1,200 Medical College faculty and staff.

The project is expected to be financed as part of a $100 million tax-exempt bond issue in spring 2016, according to a recent ratings upgrade from Standard & Poor’s. Proceeds from the debt issue also will go to the Medical College’s new pharmacy school and renovations of existing facilities, S&P said.

“Given the college’s low debt burden, a financing of this magnitude is well within the acceptable range for the present rating,” S&P said.

The Medical College said the professional office building will bring clinicians together for clinical, research, educational and community engagement. The facility also will preserve space for future expansion on the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center campus in Wauwatosa, the college said.
