The AICP West membership’s #AICPgives food & goods drive
was a huge success. Thanks to our collective effort, an estimated 5000
"instant boxes" of ready to eat food were delivered to the needy by
nonprofit organization Gobble Gobble Give during its annual Thanksgiving Day
meal distribution. Barry Walker, founder of Gobble Gobble Give reports that our
donations translate to an estimated week’s worth of food for each of the 5000
recipients. We also helped provide approximately 4,500 hot Thanksgiving
dinners, as well as warm clothing and hygiene kits to those living in poverty
on the streets of Los Angeles.
A heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in this worthy
cause, including the West Board Organizing Committee: Ali Brown of Prettybird,
Mikel Elliot of Quixote, Rick Fishbein of Green Dot Films, Jessie Nagel from
Hype, and Eric Caprogrosso from Caps, as well as the AICP West staff. A special
thanks to Dee DeLara of Quixote who was instrumental in organizing the
As a little bonus for those who participated, #AICPgives
