The AICP is taking over the first week of June.
Introducing the first-ever AICP Week.
AICP Week is a celebration
devoted to the artistry of commercial production. It includes the debut of the
AICP Next Awards at New York University’s Skirball Center, as well as the
premiere of the AICP Show at The Museum of Modern Art. During the week, there
will be a Directors Lecture series, where attendees will experience insights
from a diverse array of commercial filmmakers.
June 4: The AICP Next
Awards at NYU’s Skirball Center for the Performing Arts
The Next Awards recognize outstanding work and the creative forces behind it,
but are much more than an Awards competition – Next is a platform for thought
leadership and analysis. The premiere of the Next Awards kicks off AICP
Week. At the event, winners of the Integrated Campaign category present case
studies exploring the creative and strategic thinking behind each winning
June 5: The AICP
Directors Lecture Series at The Museum of Modern Art
This event is a revival of the popular series which ran in conjunction with the
AICP Show from the early 1990s to mid-2000s. Attendees have related that this
was a rare opportunity to get to know another dimension of some of the most
talented people in the industry. The Lecture Series took a hiatus to focus on
other areas, and now the time feels right to turn the lens back onto the
directorial talent which has steered our business for years, and is driving
innovation in today’s exciting times.
June 6: The AICP Show:
The Art & Technique of the American Commercial
The 22nd Annual AICP Show, The Art & Technique of the American Commercial,
debuts on June 6, 2013 to close out AICP Week. The event, held at The Museum of
Modern Art in New York City, is one of the most important advertising showcases
in the U.S. Each year the work honored is made a part of the archives of the
Department of Film at MoMA. Each chapter in the archive tells a story that
reflects society and culture through the messages and artistic achievements in
advertising for that given year.
Tickets will be on sale in
the coming weeks. Check the AICP website for updates.
