AICP recently showcased its new Legal Initiative at town hall meetings on the
east and west coasts.
goal of the Legal Initiative is to encourage agencies to adopt a more
reasonable approach to selected sections of their production agreements (excluding
those provisions involving price, production fees, costs and payment terms) by
providing legal representation to individual general member companies for
direct contract negotiations with advertising agencies on certain onerous,
non-financial, “boilerplate” contract terms that typically appear in agency
Initiative, which has been fully funded by AICP, will be available for use by
its general member companies beginning Monday, July 1st. Following is a brief overview on how best to
utilize this new service and a reminder of some of the benefits to your company.
Utilizing the Legal Initiative is simple. When your company
is awarded a job you should contact the attorney at the helm of the initiative,
Roberta M. Wolff, at Roberta@rmwolfflegal.com
or by calling 323-406-8424. The first time you contact Roberta her office will
send you an engagement letter and you will be asked to fill out a Job Information/Contact
Sheet each time you have a new set of production agreements for review. Once you’ve signed the engagement letter and
sent it to Roberta along with the completed Job Information/Contact Sheet, the
production contract, and any associated documents and addenda (such as the purchase
order, wrap up addendum, etc.) you’ll be off and running. A copy of the Job Information/Contact Sheet can
be found by clicking here.
Some of the benefits
of the Legal Initiative are as follows:
