VETERANS JOB SEMINAR - MARCH 20th

We are excited to announce that the AICP, in partnership with the Veterans in Film & Television will host the next Veterans Job Seminar on Thursday, March 20 from 6 - 9pm. Several AICP member companies have signed up for the event, but there are still more openings available. The Seminar will be hosted at the office of  Caviar Content, 6320 West Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, CA  90028 (parking details will be provided upon RSVP).

Through the Veterans Initiative, the AICP hopes to find employment - including three-month paid fellowships - for service men and women within its member companies. This will be the fifth event since the Initiative launched in 2012, and it has been a smashing success. Through 2013, 14 AICP member companies have employed 16 veterans for three-month stints as paid interns, and a handful of them have gone on to acquire full-time positions.

If your company is interested in participating in the Seminar, and/or has the ability to offer a 3-month paid fellowship to a Veteran, please email David Phelps at davidp@aicp.com.  Last year, we received an overwhelmingly positive response from both members and applicants alike, placing 14 veterans with AICP member companies in both New York and Los Angeles.  Here’s a testimonial from one of our participants last year:

“Thanks for your time and the effort you put into bringing the Veterans together to provide such a career expanding event. I gained so much knowledge during the Commercial Production Job Seminar. I learned a lot about my strengths as well as what could be misconstrued as a weakness in the layout of my resume...I know that the set-up of the event was essential in honing ones skills at making informed yet quick decisions. Decisiveness while doing business is a great asset to have. Be well and thanks again for all your support.”

Here’s another comment from Jeff Norman of The Veterans Project, our past LA Seminar Partner:

“It’s been an honor and pleasure recruiting candidates for the Association of Independent Commercial Producer’s paid fellowship program. A lot of people say they support veterans, but rarely does any organization stand up for them as AICP has. Every step of the way, the AICP and its affiliated production companies have extended an extraordinary effort to treat veterans with the utmost respect, and provide them with real career opportunities.”

VFT will be accepting and pre-screening applicants for the event.  We will share their resumes with you no later than Tuesday, March 18.  We are excited about this opportunity and hope that you will join us for this wonderful event.

Below are some photos from past events. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
