AICP Membership Continues to Grow
AICP National Board Elections and Membership Meetings in New York and Los Angeles
AICP encourages all its members to become involved in the organization. One of the best ways to do so is to run for a seat on the AICP National Board. With elections top of mind for many, now may be the time to throw your own hat in this ring. Elections for the National Board of Directors will take place in early November, and we are currently fielding candidates.
There are two ways to serve on the National Board, which focuses exclusively on the management of the Association. One is to be elected as a “Member At Large”; and the other is to be appointed as a representative of a Chapter by a Regional Board. Members at Large come from the ranks of both the General and Associate membership (there are six General member seats and two Associate Member seats on the National board) and are elected directly by their respective members. Terms are staggered, and during this election cycle, there are three (3) General Member at Large seats open, and one (1) Associate Member at Large seat open.
The election for the open Members At Large seats will take place in early November. Any general or associate member in good standing may run for these seats. Once the slate of National Board candidates is set, there is a campaign period culminating with a designated individual at each member company receiving an electronic ballot for voting. Another way to serve on a Board of AICP is at the Chapter level. These Boards are charged with managing issues affecting members, and safeguarding policies that affect all members in the region. Agenda items for these Boards include external affairs (i.e. legislation affecting production), education, and community building. The Chapters are: East, Southeast, Florida, Minnesota, Midwest, Southwest and West. Currently, the East and West elections are underway, while other chapters may vary in timing. If you are interested in serving on a Chapter Board please contact Kristin, who will direct you to the appropriate Chapter contact.
