Public Transit Agencies Mark Memorial Day

Public transportation agencies throughout the U.S. modified their schedules and took riders to special events throughout the Memorial Day weekend.

IndyGo provided service to the Indianapolis 500 during the weekend; the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority transported riders to events including the Atlanta Jazz Festival and Atlanta Caribbean Carnival; and the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority participated in Free Museum Days. MTA Long Island Rail Road launched its summer beach getaways during the weekend.

In New York City, the Transit Veterans Association conducted its annual ceremony honoring the city’s 155 public transit employees—and all Americans—who lost their lives in combat.
