APTA's White Addresses International Group
APTA Acting President & CEO Richard White, at podium, delivered remarks on the association’s advocacy agenda and recent research to quantify the economic value of public transit at the recent UITP (International Association of Public Transport) International Rail Forum for North America in Washington, DC. The event on the theme “Public Transit as a Business,” which attracted nearly 150 attendees, was hosted by Paul Wiedefeld, seated, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority general manager and CEO, with support from APTA and the Canadian Urban Transit Association. The event examined how public transit systems can be a catalyst for commercial opportunities and other funding streams for future investment. The forum connects North America’s rail transit agencies with the international community, providing global perspectives and the exchange of knowledge and best practices. APTA’s incoming President & CEO Paul P. Skoutelas also attended. |
