Congressional Caucus on High-Speed and Intercity Rail Holds Briefing
On April 10, the Congressional Caucus on High-Speed and Intercity Passenger Rail (HSIPR) held a briefing in the Capitol Visitors Center in Washington, DC.  Presentations focused on the high points of HSIPR and why the country is headed in the right direction.  With $10 billion allocated around the country via prior legislation, the results of those investments will be evident throughout the year in groundbreakings and ribbon-cutting events. The caucus also discussed a letter signed by a bipartisan group of more than 100 members of Congress speaking to Congressional leadership on the need for spending on HSIPR.

On April 18th, PBS will begin an in-depth look at how America moves. Recently, two stories stand out. Hubert Gentry, a paratransit driver for the Mass Transportation Authority in Flint, MI saved one of his regular riders by realizing something was off when she was not ready to go. Richard Gubish Jr., with the assistance of another motorist, used his Lehigh and Northampton Transportation Authority bus to block in a car that hit a bicyclist on a bridge.
