DOT Seeks Input on Projects of National and Regional Significance

DOT is compiling a comprehensive list of Projects of National and Regional Significance (PNRS) through a survey open until Nov. 17. The list is designed to enable DOT to classify PNRS projects and develop recommendations on eligible project cost financing.

FTA Releases Final Emergency Relief Rule

Building on its interim rule, public comment, and experience with Hurricane Sandy recovery efforts, FTA released its final rule on the Emergency Relief Program on Oct. 7. FTA clarified its intent to apply both the rule and emergency funding to both natural and man-made events. The final rule includes numerous changes recommended by APTA and its members, and discusses FTA's intent to propose an Emergency Relief Manual "later this year." The final rule is available for review and downloading on APTA's Federal Regulations pages

APTA's Annual Meeting & EXPO Launches

APTA's 2014 Annual Meeting & EXPO will kick off on Oct. 12 in Houston. More than 15,000 attendees are scheduled to participate in the industry's premier event, which will have more than 800 global exhibitors displaying the latest public transportation-related technologies and innovations. Session highlights will include a presentation by DOT Secretary Anthony Foxx and a roundtable discussion with several U.S. city mayors.
