Apply/nominate by Oct. 31 Merck Innovative Ophthalmology Research Awards up to $15,000 

IORA is open to researchers 45 years old or younger who hold an MD, a PhD or an equivalent doctoral level degree.Topics for the 2013 awards are:

  • Diabetic eye disease
  • Gene therapy in eye disease

A first place prize of $15,000 and two second place prizes of $10,000 will be awarded in each category for a total of $70,000 in awards.

NEI Challenge to Identify Audacious Goals in Vision Research and Blindness Rehabilitation

  • Up to 20 winners will receive $3,000, plus up to $2,000 in travel expenses for the NEI Audacious Goals Development Meeting in February.
  • Submission deadline: Nov. 12
