A call for papers for a special issue in IOVS, Biomarkers and surrogate endpoints in ophthalmic clinical research, is open through March 1.
The issue will include invited papers covering glaucoma, dry eye, retinal diseases and omics, along with regulatory perspectives.
Submitted manuscripts should be original hypothesis-driven research, meta-analyses and reviews focused on the use of biomarkers and surrogate endpoints in ophthalmic clinical research and care, with particular attention to scientific advances (proposal of new biomarkers), biomarkers validation and identification. Included biomarkers might be biochemical, molecular (omics), clinical (including patient reported, symptoms, function and objective signs) and imaging.
Special guest editors for this issue are ARVO members Edoardo Villani, MD, University of Milan and Stela Vujosevic, MD, PhD, University of Padua, who organized a successful Special Interest Group Session on this topic at the 2016 ARVO Annual Meeting.
Submit your manuscript by the March 1 deadline. For additional information, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
