JLME Update

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on what we’re grateful for. At ASLME, and as editors of JLME, we are grateful to you, our readers. Thanks for submitting such interesting content to publish. Thanks for working with us throughout the various copyediting stages. Thanks for peer reviewing. Thanks for supporting each other’s work. Thanks for reading JLME.

We are nearing the end of publishing our final issues of the year. Our winter issue will comprise of our regular symposium, as well as a supplement. Guest edited by John-Stewart Gordon and Jerome Bickenbach,  “Human Rights and Disability” takes a global perspective on disability law through the lens of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and agencies such as the World Health Organization and the CDC.  The guest editors and their co-authors discuss legal capacity, supported decision-making, inclusive education, access to health care services, and more.  Our supplement issue  presents the papers first shared at the Weight of the Nation conference last year. Topics include obesity prevention and control, the built environment and physical activity promotion, and the role of state and federal governments in this goal.

Again, many thanks for your continued support and readership of JLME. May you have a very Happy Thanksgiving!
