Introducing Our New ASLME President, James G. Hodge, Jr.
The American Society of Law, Medicine & Ethics is pleased to announce that James G. Hodge, Jr. has been elected President of the Board of Directors for 2014. He succeeds outgoing President Mary Anne Bobinski, who served for 2013 and who will remain on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. The ASLME board, staff, and membership thank Mary Anne for her important and generous leadership.

Hodge has a long history of membership and service in ASLME. He has authored numerous articles in the Journal of Law, Medicine & Ethics and edits the quarterly “Public Health Law” column in JLME. He has also guest-edited two special issues of JLME focused on public health law. In 2012 he served as faculty host to our Health Law Professor’s conference at Arizona State University, and that same year he was invited to sit on ASLME’s Board of Directors.

James G. Hodge, Jr. is the Lincoln Professor of Health Law and Ethics at Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, where he also serves as Associate Dean and Director of the Public Health Law and Policy Program. James also serves as the Director of the Public Health Law Network - Western Region, one of five centers nationally funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. His newest text, “Public Health Law in a Nutshell,” was recently published by West Academic in December 2013. His full biography can be found here.

Everyone in ASLME looks forward to working with James in 2014!
