Member Spotlight: Frances H. Miller
Valued ASLME friend and member, Professor Frances Miller is the guest editor of our new JLME supplement titled "Teaching Public Health Law.”
In 2013, Miller, a Professor Emerita at Boston University School of
Law, directed the Scholars in Residence Fellowship Program (SIR),
launched by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to enrich and enhance the
teaching and practice of public health law. This program required
scholars to complete a six-month fellowship at various public health
agencies, giving them first-hand knowledge about the way public health
law works in a practical setting. At the end of the fellowship, scholars
produced a teaching module on their experience. These modules have been
published in Miller’s supplement, and the collection of work offers new
ways to think about and address a range of public health concerns.
