Know Before You Go
The countdown is on! The 40th Annual Health Law Professors Conference is just a few weeks away. Since it is just around the “corner” for this month’s "Katie’s Korner," I’d like to share some things you might want to Know Before You Go.
Like me, most of you probably pack your bags the night before heading to a conference. But, in case you are planning ahead and thinking about what to bring think: business casual. Obviously it is going to be HOT in HOTlanta. Don’t forget to pack a light sweater or an extra layer for when the air conditioner is blasting during the sessions.
If you are flying into Atlanta, finding ground transportation at the Atlanta airport is easy. Taking the train using the Marta system only takes about 20 minutes and costs $6 round trip. For train and bus information, go here. The hotel and law school are the same train stop – Peachtree Center.

Friday Night Reception
We are very excited to bring the conference attendees to the Center for Civil and Human Rights for the Friday evening event. Attendees will have time to explore the exhibits and enjoy dinner and drinks. The presentation of the ASLME Jay Healey Teaching Award will take place during the event.
After a long day of sessions, you may want to get some air and walk the .7 miles (from the law school) or a half mile from the hotel to the reception. Shuttles will also be provided.
Peachtree Fun Run
After all the fun Friday night, you may be interested in the Peachtree Fun Run on Saturday morning. The route is provided by the Westin. The route map is available at here. If you want to save space in your suitcase, RunWESTIN features Gear Lending by New Balance.
If you haven’t registered for the conference yet, there is still time. Click here to register now! We look forward to seeing you all in Atlanta for the 40th Annual Health Law Professors Conference.
