I don’t know about the rest of you, but September descended upon me in a rush. Suddenly, the kids are back in school, the ATSA conference is weeks away, and I must meet the Forum deadlines. Luckily, I have a wonderful group of authors who volunteered to write articles for this issue of the Forum!

This Fall 2021 edition of the Forum features articles on addressing the effectiveness of group therapy treatment for adult and older adolescent males (Jerry Jennings, Steven Sawyer, and David Prescott) as well as a personal account by Janet DiGiorgio-Miller’s experiences of moving into permanent remote clinical practice. Gwen Willis provides a summary of the research and practice guidelines for the Structured Assessment of PROtective Factors – Sexual Offence version (SAPROF-SO). Ainslie Heasman describes a new national prevention program in Canada, Talking for Change, which offers both anonymous and non-anonymous professional help to those at risk for engaging in sexual abuse. In the Student Section, Kailey Roche summarizes her study related to clinicians’ willingness to treat individuals with a sexual interest in children. Kailey received the Marnie Rice Poster award at the ATSA conference last year for this study.

I encourage those who may utilize research results in their clinical, assessment, and/or legal practice to take a moment and read the Research Corner. Here, I have provided a short “how-to” in quickly discriminating the quality of published research studies. Researchers may wish to add further tips on the ATSA-list as well.

Please also take a moment to read about the Chapter Engagement and Development Committee (CEDC) as well as our book reviews. Lastly, this issue’s feature ATSA member is Dotun Ogunfowora of Canada. Thank you for being an ATSA member, Dotun!

Enjoy the ATSA conference and happy reading,
