Time to Renew Your AWI Membership – Keep Your AWI Benefits Coming!

All AWI Manufacturing and Supplier Members will soon receive their annual AWI membership dues renewal notices.  Notices were mailed October 31, 2006 and payments are due by December 31, 2006

Renewing AWI members will receive a certificate of membership in 2007 for display at their facility, and members who renew by December 31, 2006 are guaranteed placement in the 2007 AWI Membership Resource Directory, as well as the online AWI member directory used by thousands of architects and other design professionals 24/7 – 365 days a year.  The 2007 Annual Member Update process is underway.

While these corporate listings are among the most visible benefits of your membership, AWI offers renewing members a variety of other publications, educational forums, and resources to help grow your business.

AWILL Seminar Teams Boost the Value of Education Sessions

Improved Advanced Estimating and Advanced Project Management seminars are being prepared by the AWILL Seminar Teams as a result of their planning meeting in Chicago in late October. More complex problems, hands-on work with computer spreadsheets, and working templates will be provided to attendees, along with instructions on how to use them.

Save the date for the Winter Career and Technology Education Week (CATE), February 22-24, 2007 in Fort Worth, Texas. Plan now to attend and register your estimators and project managers for these highly acclaimed seminars that will help boost your bottom line.

Workplace Injuries and Illnesses Lowest on Record

The rate of workplace injuries and illnesses in private industry declined in 2005 for the third consecutive year, according to the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).

Approximately 4.2 million injuries and illnesses occurred in 2005. The number translates to a rate of 4.6 cases per 100 full-time employees, slightly less than the 4.8 rate reported last year.

Seven members of the AWI Colorado Chapter made a local family very happy with a gift of homeownership.
