October AWI NewsBriefs Offers More Insight into Certified Wood Credit

The Addendum incorporated by the U.S. Green Building Council into the 2009 LEED® Reference Guide for Green Building Design & Construction aligns itself more closely with the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) Chain-of-Custody (CoC) standards. As reported in the previous issue of AWI e-briefs, there’s more to it and the October edition of AWI NewsBriefs offers more insight.

Watch for AWI’s monthly print publication for more details offered by AWI Sustainability Resources Representative Rob Ziegelmeier. NewsBriefs will arrive in your mailbox around October 15.

Ziegelmeier advises that this affects the 2009 version only. The Certified Wood credit that has been under review for two years and four open comment periods is still in process as addressed in the June edition of AWI NewsBriefs. There are some additional changes to the woodworking credits with minor changes. For all of the information, go to www.usgbc.org/ShowFile.aspx?DocumentID=6392.
