AWI Joins ConsensusDOCS Coalition

Last month, the Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) joined a growing coalition called ConsensusDOCS that produces best practices construction contracts that are fair to all parties in the design and construction process.

"Over the years, AWI members have contacted AWI for samples of contract documents and related documentation that we could not provide," AWI Executive Vice President Phil Duvic said. "AWI’s participation in ConcensusDOCS allows us to provide our members with numerous contract document samples accepted across the industry as being fair and widely accepted. AWI’s participation strengthens the entire construction industry," Mr. Duvic noted.

AWI members will want to review ConsensusDOCS "Series 700: Subcontracting" in the document series that was specifically developed for subcontractors. There are 16 individual documents that range from purchase agreements to change orders. "Purchase of a ConcensusDOCS subscription to a specific section provides access to a software tool. The subscription gives the user permission to use the software tool, which is a master document building system. By entering relevant information about a contract in the software program, users obtain forms that automatically build themselves. Users may also print out the information to review the text," Mr. Duvic noted.

AWI’s endorsement of ConsensusDOCS enables AWI members to receive a 20% discount off the retail price of an annual subscription, providing unlimited access. Subscription fees for the 700 Series are: $549 – retail; $449 – Members. For the 20% discount, use the following codes: Partner Code – AWI; Promotion Code – 100.

  • To explore the value of a subscription, AWI members may download excerpted samples from the ConsensusDOCS Web site, Click here for details about Ten Reasons Your Project Needs ConsensusDOCS.
  • To purchase a subscription, go to the "Subscription" page on the ConsensusDOCS Web site,, select the series you wish to purchase, then "Add to cart." A new window will come up with login prompts; you will need to create an account before proceeding. Your account logins (User ID and Password) will be e-mailed to you. Once the account codes are received, you can proceed with purchase using your User ID and Password, and then for the AWI discount, the Partner Code and Promotion Code.
