Endicott Clay Products Company (Endicott), a nationally recognized manufacturer of high quality face brick, thin brick, pavers and tile is seeking a Technical Director. Nearly 100 years old, Endicott is a family-owned business based near Fairbury, Nebraska. Endicott has a diverse architectural product line that is synonymous with high quality and aesthetic beauty that is sold throughout the United States and Canada.


The successful candidate will report directly to Endicott’s President & CEO.  Position requirements and job responsibilities include the following:

  • A qualified applicant should have a BS degree in Ceramic Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment or the ceramics industry is preferred
  • Hands-on operational support, improvement, and troubleshooting of kilns and dryers
  • Conducts research and development for new products
  • Conducts raw material and finished product analysis
  • Proactively identifies areas for improvement in efficiency and quality
  • Works well with manufacturing personnel to effectively resolve technical issues
  • Assists with environmental and regulatory compliance

Civil Engineer- General Shale, Inc.                         

                                                                    

General Shale is one of North America's largest brick, stone and concrete block manufacturers, supplying a wide variety of masonry materials for residential, commercial and specialty architectural projects. General Shale, is seeking a Civil Engineer for our corporate-engineering department. This position will be based at our corporate offices in Johnson City, TN.  Responsibilities will include: steel, concrete and material handling systems design; providing project management support to engineers, subcontractors, and General Shale’s production personnel; deliver reliable construction cost estimates; conducting job site inspections and problem analysis; and preparing various technical analysis.  

The successful candidate will report to General Shale’s Director of Engineering.
Position Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited school of engineering
•    Passed FE (Fundamental of Engineering) exam, registered EIT (Engineer in Training) and ability to obtain PE license within 1-2 years of hire
•    Recent course work with masonry, building design, concrete, and structural steel
•    Demonstrated oral and written presentation skills
•    Computer proficiency, particularly with MS Office suite
•    Project management experience
•    2-3 years of relevant engineering experience.
•    Willingness to travel – up to 40%
Preferred Qualifications:
•    General knowledge in graphic design software (i.e. AutoCAD, etc.)
•    Understanding and experience with structural design software
•    PE is preferred
