A Roadmap to Net-Zero Carbon for Campuses

Learn the benefits and strategies for campus projects in achieving net-zero energy goals. This one-hour course, delivered by Craig Applegath of DIALOG and Mike Williams of RWDI, discusses next-level energy management metrics and key strategies that can drastically reduce traditional energy use and provides real-world examples of low-carbon campus planning in action.

Tall Wood Building Case Study: UBC’s Brock Commons

Get an inside look at the design, regulations and construction involved in tall wood building in this session exploring UBC’s Brock Commons as a case study. This course will also focus on the long-term environmental performance through a life cycle assessment comparison with a similar concrete residential building. It will showcase some of the design and construction strategies, and discuss the implication those decisions had on the environmental performance of the project.

This course is delivered by Angelique Pilon, Director, Urban Innovation Research from the University of British Columbia, Sustainability Initiative.
