Meet Sandy, one of our top online event managers...

Sandy (click to view larger photo) coordinates and moderates large-scale Web seminars for valued clients, including Financial Managers Society (FMS), Snow & Ice Management Association (SIMA) and American Immigration Law Foundation (AILF)

What makes for a successful online event manger? The ability to juggle a zillion things at once and being cool under pressure, all while maintaining a calm, soothing tone of voice!

Sandy certainly had those talents coming in…before joining CommPartners, she was a news producer for 17 years at CBS-affiliate WJZ-TV (Channel 13) in Baltimore. 

“I  was in charge of putting together the morning news show with Don Scott and Marty Bass. It was a lot of fun, but the hours were grueling. I started each morning at 3:30 am and worked until about noon.”

When sleep-deprived Sandy left WJZ, she did some freelance writing and producing for CNN, the CBS satellite news service and several television stations in Washington, DC. 

She then became a freelance columnist for the Baltimore Jewish Times, where she wrote weekly about people and events in Howard County, MD. “I really enjoyed meeting some incredible people and loved the freedom that freelance work gave me.” 

A year-and-a-half later, she got a call from Rich (president of CommPartners) asking if she’d be interested in managing events…

On the weekends:

Sandy’s hobbies include tennis (lots of tennis!), running, shopping, and getting together with her friends.

“I spend a lot of time at my sons' sports events. Adam, who is 18 and graduating from high school this month, played football for many years and Daniel (16) plays football and baseball. I’m definitely a dedicated fan!”
