Back-issues page format

Click on the Search Back Issues button of this newsletter, and you may notice a difference in how Connecting's archives are displayed. Instead of horizontal, wrapping rows, there is a now column for each year, with issues listed in descending order.

In addition, the issue date title text is displayed (versus the specific issue date), e.g., June 2007 is shown, in place of the June 22, 2007 date it was sent to our readership.

Going forward, this new formatting will be made available to new NewsManager clients. If you are a current NewsManager client and would like to activate these two functionalities, it does require some programming on our end - email help@commpartners.com to have us review the setup of your account, so we may determine required hours, turnaround time and fees, if any.

NewsManager’s MagnetMail-integrated RSS option

NewsManager now offers an optional RSS feed that is integrated with MagnetMail, for uniform subscription and tracking functions.

The benefits:

For NewsManager clients, there are no extra steps involved:

• Just create a newsletter issue as before, add articles, etc., and when you post the email version to MagnetMail, the RSS portion is automatically filled in.
• If you publish to a mailing list group that has RSS subscribers, that NewsManager issue title and description will be added to the RSS feed and those subscribers will be notified when their RSS reader program checks the feed.

And, with the optional RSS integrated feed, subscriber data is all available in MagnetMail’s Tracking tab, along with email readership, link clicks, and click-stream Web site hits.

The benefit for your subscribers:

RSS subscribing is more streamlined for users (now requiring only one url, versus one url for the email version and one for the Web-hosted version of each newsletter). With the new RSS feature enabled, when readers look at the new RSS news item, they see the headlines and teasers, and can click through to the articles, just like they would if they got it in an email.
