Email Image Blocking Preview
MagnetMail's Deliverability Testing Module now offers the ability to see how messages will look in recipients’ Yahoo!, Gmail, Hotmail and AOL inboxes when images are blocked.
When image-laden emails are received by most top email applications, images are blocked and appear as boxed areas (each with a little red ‘x’). Increasingly, email hosts are blocking images by default and giving users the ability to enable images within an email.
Knowing how recipients who block images will see your message is helpful in planning future template designs.
If you have MagnetMail's optional Deliverability Testing Module, simply go to the Send tab and submit the email message of your choice for diagnostics.

Once results are available, go to the Track tab and select Deliverability Testing Results. The Display section (circled below) has links to inbox previews for each of the major email providers.
For the purpose of this article, we chose the Gmail preview. Once in the Gmail preview window, click on the ‘View Gmail with images blocked’ option (circled below).

Below is how an email would appear in a Gmail inbox:

Check the rules, filter and options settings within your email account to find out how to change settings - you may offer tips to your recipients about un-blocking images for incoming emails.
For maximum inbox impact, minimize use of images (especially those embedded in template headers and left sidebars).
Because there are so many varied email account types used for business and personal email, there is no way to know how your images will render for each one. That’s why MagnetMail has chosen four of the most popular email hosts, to offer a good idea of how messages will be received in the majority of inboxes.
