Membership Made Easy

While most HRMA Committees take a hiatus for the summer, the HRMA Membership Committee has been extremely busy.  HRMA’s membership has grown to 937.

As a committee, our goal is quite simply doing a better job getting new members to join, and doing a better job of getting current members to renew their membership.  Each month HRMA adds roughly 19 new members, and 12 members choose not to renew.  We’ve made improvements in both areas to take HRMA to the “Mega-Chapter” chapter level with SHRM at more than 1,000 members in 2005-2006.

New members can fill out the form online, pay with a credit card, or mail with a check.  The member is approved almost immediately, and a call is placed to the new member welcoming them to HRMA, and telling them about the upcoming programs.  New members also receive a welcome mailing directing them back to HRMA’s website to make sure their profile information is accurate, and asking them to indicate areas in which they have expertise.  In addition, we are planning on hosting two new membership orientation meetings in 2005-2006.

In the near future, renewals will be sent via email, and the member can simply follow the hyperlink to the renewal section to complete their renewal.  We will also be surveying existing and non-renewing members for feedback.

We look forward to a successful year and if you have any comments or feedback, or are interested in joining our committee, please fee free to contact Amy Sabec, or Bruce Peterson, Membership Co-Chairs.
