Proceedings From the WW7 are Now Available
The proceedings from the 7th World Workshop (WW7) on Oral Health & Disease in AIDS have been published in the Oral Diseases journal. The meeting, which took place in Hyderabad, India, November 6-9, 2014, brought together approximately 135 participants from 31 countries.

NIH Creates Atlas of Human Malformation Syndromes in Diverse Populations
Researchers from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) have collaborated with physicians and medical geneticists around the world to create the Atlas of Human Malformation Syndromes in Diverse Populations. Health care providers can use the new atlas to diagnose diverse patients with inherited diseases by comparing phenotypes and written descriptions of their symptoms with photos and descriptions of people with the same condition and ancestry.
Promoting Oral Health in Africa: Prevention and Management of Oral Diseases and Noma as Essential Interventions Against Non-communicable Diseases
Promoting Oral Health in Africa is the response by the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Africa to requests from across the Region’s 47 countries for a reference manual to help prevent and manage oral diseases at the primary health care level.

CIHR-IMHA Funding Opportunity Announcement: Personalized Medicine
The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Netherlands Organisation for Health Research and Development and the Dutch Arthritis Foundation have announced a joint initiative: the Canada-Netherlands Personalized Medicine in Immune Mediated Inflammatory Musculoskeletal Disease Network. This initiative is aimed at developing personalized pharmacotherapy approaches to medicine for immune mediated inflammatory musculoskeletal diseases through the research potential of multiple population-based patient cohorts in Canada and the Netherlands.

IADR Incoming Vice President Rena D’Souza Receives Research Medal Award from the Dental Alumni of Columbia University
Last month, IADR Incoming Vice President Rena D’Souza, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, USA received the Research Medal Award from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine at its Birnberg Research Program (annual student research program). She was presented with the award following her lecture titled “Novel Treatment Strategies for Craniofacial Disorders.”
