- Rice University To Debut Diploma Programme Training in Spring 2005
Rice University in Houston, Texas, will offer its first IB Diploma Programme teacher training 11-13 March 2005. In addition to Level 1 workshops for new IB teachers and Level 2 workshops for experienced IB teachers, a new model of Level 3 workshops for experienced IB teachers will also be offered. In the Level 3 workshops, participants will have the opportunity to interact with university faculty and to explore topics at depth. With presentations by Rice faculty and facilitation by IBNA's experienced workshop leaders, a classroom environment will be created that will allow participants to delve more deeply into the content of the course. Level 3 workshops will include English A1, history of the Americas, math SL/HL and nanotechnology in all IB sciences. Rice University is consistently ranked one of America's best teaching and research universities. The University's School of Continuing Studies, through whom the IB Workshops are offered, has a ten-year history of offering high-quality teacher professional development programs.
