 A New School Year Begins!

Welcome back!

In the first issue of this new school year, we feature some great pieces on IB practice and philosophy.

Dr. Gerald Tirozzi, Executive Director of NASSP, examines how IB can continue to support a broad and inclusive curriculum in an age of increased testing and NCLB; and Eric Smith, Superintendent of Anne Arundel County Schools, reports on how the IB K-12 continuum works as an agent of reform in his schools district. Thomas Hagoort, former IBNA Board President, underscores the necessity of intercultural understanding; and Gil Berman, principal of Rampart High School, and a team from Colorado Springs detail how meeting in collaborative learning communities allows for the seamless articulation of their Middle Years Programme.
