2015 data submitted to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service’s (CMS) Open Payments program will be released publicly on June 30. Prior to publication, physicians and teaching hospitals have the opportunity to review and dispute records attributed to them by registering with Open Payments. The review period opened April 1 and will last 45 days.
Open Payments is a federally run program under The Affordable Care Act that collects and makes available to the public information about financial relationships that doctors and hospitals have with drug and device manufacturers. These relationships can include money for research activities, gifts, speaking fees, meals, or travel.
