Health Care Reform Focus Shifts to Implementation Challenges and Opportunities

With comprehensive health care reform now law, health care stakeholders and the Obama administration are focusing on numerous implementation and public outreach issues that will be critical to the new law’s success.  HIVMA is developing materials to highlight implementation issues of particular importance to HIV providers and their patients, including a new issue brief summarizing key provisions of the new law.

Below are resources for additional information on the new health care reform law.

The Kaiser Family Foundation:  Resources include summaries, implementation timelines, policy analysis, issue briefs and fact sheets on issues, such as the Medicare Part D coverage gap; the exchanges, the temporary high risk insurance pool and the cost-sharing subsidies.

FamiliesUSA:  Summaries, fact sheets and issue briefs geared toward national and state-based advocates and consumers.

Center for Medicare Advocacy:  Policy analysis and beneficiary information on the new law’s impact on Medicare, including Part D.

HealthReform.gov:   Administration website with information on the new law, including an ongoing Q&A forum and state-specific information
