Welcome to the June 2020 issue of VTS Mobile World – your IEEE Vehicular Technology Society newsletter. I hope you are doing well and keeping safe.

In this issue, Society President Abbas Jamalipour gives a summary of best service to our members and the wider community in all circumstances. In addition, there is a message from Vice President—Land Transportation Gary Touryan.

We also feature a new video on “Electrified Vehicle Technologies, A Road Path Towards Zero Emissions” available at the VTS Resource Center.

Also included are recently published papers from the IEEE Open Journal of Vehicular Technology, a report from the VTS Chicago Chapter, and an update about the VTS Standards Committee.

The VTS Land Transportation Division is a standing Technical Committee of VTS that covers the technology relating to electrical and/or electronic aspects of ground transportation including the components and systems used in both automated and non-automated facets of ground transport technology.

The VTS Standards Committee develops standards under the auspices of the IEEE Standards Association (IEEE-SA).

The Committee continues to be active despite travel and meeting restrictions, creating new opportunities for VTS member participation in Rail Transit, Land Transit, Intelligent Transportation Systems, and Private Land Mobile Radio activities.

The IEEE Vehicular Transport/Intelligent Transport Systems (VT/ITS) 1609 Working Group and the Automated Vehicle Standards Committee are seeking new participants for upcoming projects.  Read More...
