VTC2018-Fall & VPPC 2018 in Chicago

For the first time, the 2018 IEEE 88th Vehicular Technology Conference (VTC2018-Fall) and the 2018 IEEE Vehicle Power and Propulsion Conference (VPPC 2018) will be co-located in Chicago, IL-USA from 28–31 August, and delegates will have the opportunity to move freely between the two conferences.

These flagship conferences of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Society will bring together individuals from academia, government, and industry to discuss and exchange ideas in the fields of wireless, mobile, and vehicular technology (VTC) and the fields of power and propulsion  technologies for all things vehicular (VPPC). Delegates will only need to register for one of the conferences, VTC or VPPC, because attendees of VTC and attendees of VPPC will be able to explore and enjoy the programs of either event.

VTC2018-Fall & VPPC 2018 will take place at the Hilton Chicago on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago. This hotel forms an integral part of the city’s history as one of the largest hotels in Chicago and boasts a guest record of accommodating every US President since the hotel originally opened.

The Hilton Chicago is in an excellent location overlooking Grant Park, Lake Michigan, and Museum Campus (includes Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum and Adler Planetarium) and is a short distance from many downtown attractions including the Art Institute of Chicago, Millennium Park, State Street Shopping, Soldier Field (home of the Chicago Bears), the Chicago Theatre, Magnificent Mile, and the Navy Pier. Chicago, as one of the larger historic US cities, is well worth exploring. It hosts one of the best known Riverwalk districts with over 18 historic drawbridges, guided boat tours, and numerous attractions, shops, taverns and restaurants - all nestled among historic buildings and skyscrapers, including Willis Tower, the second tallest building in the United States.

VTC2018-Fall

In addition to high-quality technical sessions, the conference will feature world-class plenary speakers, tutorials, workshops and technical as well as application sessions in, but not limited to, the following technical areas:

The conference will include an innovative Industry Track, which will feature panels and presentations with industry leaders sharing their perspectives on the latest technologies. Each day will offer a technical theme linked to that day’s technical sessions, keynotes and industry track offerings.

VTC2018-Fall will offer a number of integrated workshops contributory to the technical program. Workshops provide invaluable and unique opportunities for researchers and industry practitioners to share their research and development results in areas of particular interest. Workshops will cover specific topics with a mix of regular papers, panel discussions, keynotes, and possibly poster presentations. Submissions of cutting-edge workshop proposals to complement the technical program of VTC2018-Fall are solicited especially in emerging areas of mobile and vehicular technologies.

Tutorials will be available at the conference to provide opportunities for researchers from academia and industry to learn about state-of-the-art research and development from experts in a given field. The IEEE VTC2018-Fall Technical Program Committee invites submission of tutorial proposals for half-day presentation on topics of interest to the conference.

VPPC 2018

The 2018 IEEE Vehicle Power and Propulsion Conference (VPPC) will be organized under a shared effort between the University of Sherbrooke, Argonne National Laboratory, and the University of Quebec at Trois-Rivières. The conference aims to provide a forum for sharing knowledge, experience and creative ideas in vehicle power and propulsion. One of the main goals is to provide an interesting exchange about vehicle power and propulsion to develop and promote technologies to enlarge the e-mobility network.

VPPC will include keynote presentations by authoritative speakers, technical sessions, tutorials, poster presentations, special and invited sessions, and exhibits.

Technical papers, tutorials and industry participations are all welcome in, but not limited to, the following technical areas:

In addition proposals for special sessions to complement the technical program of VPPC are also gratefully solicited. Special sessions tend to explore more focused areas of interest to the VPPC community.

For anyone wanting to submit papers directly to VPPC 2018, please visit the TrackChair paper submission site.
