Crescent Oil Sold to Miller Industrial Fluids

Effective April 11, 2008, long-time ILMA member company Crescent Oil Company, Inc., has been sold to Miller Industrial Fluids LLC. Both companies are headquartered in Indianapolis, Ind. Most Crescent Oil personnel, including former company President John E. Burns, III, are now with Miller Industrial, and the company's operations have been moved to Miller's facilities. Burns was ILMA President in 1996-97.

According to Burns, Miller Industrial is a compounder/blender of industrial lubricants and metalworking fluids as well as a distributor. "I'm excited by this deal," Burns told FLASHPoint. "Miller will continue offering Crescent's product lines, but our customers will have an even wider breadth of products to choose from. Miller is also a very high-quality company - certified to the ISO 9000:2000 quality standard and the ISO14001:2004 environmental standard."  Miller is now a member of ILMA.

The sales price of the transaction was not disclosed.
