NCUA Boot Camp

The NCUA Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives (OSCUI) CEO Boot Camp drew credit unions from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Tennessee to Birmingham. The one-day workshop featured seven topics, two roundtables, and networking time. Among the topics included dishonest employee, BSA training, succession planning, lending roundtable, media relations, and credit union Q&A roundtable.

The interactive sessions featured a lot of questions from attendees and many scenario role-playing was done by the speakers. During the "Hidden in Plain Sight: dishonest employees" session, scenarios were played where check kiting may have taken place or keeping up with cash counts. During BSA training, many types of real-life situations were discussed.

The lending roundtable looked at innovative ways to grow a lending portfolio and hot lending trends. During the media relations session, credit unions were given resources to understand the various mediums and how to look for positive media relation opportunities.

The LSCU & Affiliates helped coordinate the event and supplied some of the speakers. See more pictures of the workshop by visiting the LSCU Facebook page
