Alabama and Florida votes on government shutdown

After a 16 day government shutdown, Congress passed a bill to re-open the government and raise the debt ceiling. President Obama signed the bill right after it was passed.

Here's a look at how Alabama and Florida lawmakers voted.

In the Senate: Sens. Rubio, Sessions, and Shelby voted no on the bill. Sen. Nelson voted yes.

In the House: Reps. Bachus, Buchanan, Bilirakis, Crenshaw, Diaz-Balart, Ros-Leitenen, and Webster all voted yes.

The rest of the Alabama and Florida delegation voted along party lines with most Democrats voting yes and most Republicans voting no.

Rep. Young of Florida did not vote.

Murphy had 50 percent of the vote while Gunter garnered 49.2 percent. Democrats now have 45 seats in the 120-member House.

The District 36 seat was formerly held by Rep. Mike Fasano (R). He was named Pasco County tax collector this summer.
