MMA and Partners Offer Saturday, June 17 Program on Barriers to Professionalism Make plans now to attend the conference on Professionalism being held in Portsmouth, NH on Saturday, June 17. Co-sponsored by MMA and other medical, nursing and PA societies in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont with the Lown Institute in Brookline, MA, the conference is intended to address the barriers to professionalism in medicine today. Two notable keynote speakers and five clinical ethicists will present at the conference. Read More Final Opioid Rule to be Reviewed by HHS Committee April 20 The Joint Standing Committee on Health and Human Services will review the final opioid prescribing rule at a public hearing on April 20th following hearings on several other opioid bills in the afternoon. A work session on the rule will be held on April 26. Read More Maine DHHS Now Accepting Applcations for Opioid Health Homes MaineCare's new Opioid Health Home (OHH) program has begun accepting applications from organizations wishing to be considered for the designation. The Maine CDC has made waiver applications available for physicians and other prescribers who find that the electronic opioid prescribing requirement would be either impossible or extremely difficult or burdensome to comply with.
