Legislature to Convene for Special Session October 23rd
The Maine Legislature will be returning to Augusta for a Special Session to address two particular issues (although others may also be considered). The recently passed 'food sovereignty' law will be reviewed to ensure compliance with federal requirements. The second issue is the need to fund the Maine Office of Geographic Information Systems, which was not part of the final version of the state budget. In addition, the Legislature is expected to address matters raised by the Marijuana Legalization Implementation Committee is expected to propose some specific statutory bills for a vote.
So far there is no word on any health care issues that may be raised during the Special Session.< Previous Article | Next Article >
