Congress Approves Spending Bill Including Important Health Provisions
Early in the morning on Feb. 9, the Senate and House passed the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018, which President Donald Trump then signed into law. In addition to continuing to fund the federal government through March 23, the most recent continuing resolution (CR) addressed a broad range of health, supplemental spending, budget, and tax matters.
The number of flu cases in Maine continues to rise, according to a Maine Centers for Disease Control weekly surveillance report. 876 new cases were reported, last week, an increase from the 530 cases reported the previous week.
The Maine Board of Pharmacy last Thursday approved unanimously, without discussion, a new set of rules governing prescription of naloxone by pharmacists. There is one important change from the earlier set of rules.
