White House Hosts Summit on Opioid Crisis and Opioid Treatment Bills Advance in Augusta President Trump hosted a summit last Thursday on the opioid crisis and took aim at both drug dealers and opioid manufacturers. At the State House in Augusta, legislators on the Joint Standing Committee on Health and Human Services gave tentative approval to two bills, soon to be combined, which if funded would provide treatment to 1,000 uninsured individuals and establish a "Hub and Spoke" system of delivery.
