Licensing Boards Issue New Joint Rule Chapter 21 re: Opioid Prescribing The Board of Licensure in Medicine, joined by the State Board of Nursing and the Board of Osteopathic Licensure have recently issued the new Chapter 21 Rule, effective March 24, 2018. The amendments to the prior version of the rule are very substantial with the original guidelines becoming requirements in a number of instances. Read More

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) is required to publicly report, on an annual basis, items of value that are given to physicians and teaching hospitals by drug and device companies. Before the public data release, physicians are given a brief window of time, which typically begins in early April, to review their data and dispute errors. Read More
