The Legislature is expected to act on all of those bills when it returns to session on Wednesday, May 2nd. A two-thirds vote of both the House and the Senate is required to override a veto.

MMA Legislative Committee Chair Stephen Meister, M.D. and Vice Chair Katherine Pope, M.D., along with the MMA advocacy staff, would like to express our appreciation to all who participated in the weekly conference calls of the MMA Legislative Committee throughout the session, which began in early January. The next action of the Legislative Committee will be an organizational meeting after election day in late 2018.
