Legislature Expected to Hold Special Session to Consider Governor's Bills on Child Abuse and Neglect
Activities at the State House last week led observers to believe that a special session of the 128th Legislature will be scheduled soon in order to consider the Governor's bills addressing issues in the child abuse and neglect area. Five or six bills have been drafted and are currently being reviewed by the Revisor's Office. They will not become public until such time as they are formally introduced as legislative bills, unless voluntarily released by Governor LePage.
Maine's favorite medical historian Richard Kahn, M.D. of Rockland will present at the next MMA Senior Section meeting on Wednesday, August 22. His talk will be on "Diseases of the District of Maine, 1780-1820", an unpublished manuscript by Dr. Jeremiah Baker that Dr. Kahn has reviewed and enhanced.
