MMA Opposes L.D. 1919 Criminalizing Failure to Report Child Abuse or Neglect MMA presented testimony today (Monday) in opposition to the Governor's proposal to impose a criminal penalty on mandated reporters who fail to report child abuse or neglect. L.D. 1919 was the subject of a public hearing and work session today before the HHS Committee and the full legislature has been called back into session Thursday (August 30) to consider this bill among others. Maine's Highest Court on Tuesday dealt Governor Paul LePage another setback in his attempt to halt implementation of MaineCare expansion which was approved overwhelmingly by Maine voters in November, 2017.
