Maine Prescription Drug Monitoring Program User Survey - Extended Deadline Friday, September 7.

As you know, the misuse of prescription drugs in Maine has become a substantial problem in need of immediate attention. Public Law Chapter 488 and subsequent rules addresses one aspect of the problem through prescribing and dispensing regulations under the auspices of the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP).

In order to determine the strengths and weaknesses of regulations surrounding the PDMP, the Department of Health and Social Services’ Department of Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHS), has contracted with Hornby Zeller Associates, Inc., a Public Consulting Group Company (PCG), to conduct a comprehensive analysis of Maine’s PDMP.  As part of the study, PCG is gathering and analyzing data related to utilization of the PDMP across the state.

Your responses will be crucial to recommendations aimed at improving the system.
