129th Maine Legislature Convenes this Week

The 129th Maine Legislature will convene on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at which time the election of the constitutional officers including the Attorney General, Secretary of State, State Treasurer and State Auditor will take place. Following the session, legislators are expected to adjourn until January 2, 2019.

Vaccine refusers are disproportionately represented in early stages of outbreaks. MaineCare Issues Emergency Rule on Opioid Heath Homes

Last week, the state Office of MaineCare Services issued an emergency rule amending the opioid health home chapter of the MaineCare Benefits Manual and increasing substantially the payment for eligible services. The rule was effective upon adoption and will remain in place for 90 days unless action is taken by the incoming administration to the contrary.
