Great Attendance at Physicians' Day at the Legislature
Fifty-eight physicians and nine medical students, many in white coats,
were in the State House for Physicians' Day at the Legislature last
Wednesday. It was the best turnout in several years. Meetings were held with Legislative leadership from both parties, and the afternoon featured a tea at the Blaine House with Governor Janet Mills.

Members were able to meet with many of their state senators and representatives as well as with Democratic and Republican leaders of the House and Senate and our five physician-legislators. Several doctors stayed around after the day was over in order to testify before the Joint Committee on Education and Cultural Affairs on a bill to repeal the philosophical and religious exemptions to the school immunization requirements.
