AMA President Patrice Harris, M.D. to Speak at Opioid Response Summit, July 15
AMA President Patrice Harris, M.D., a practicing psychiatrist from Atlanta and current chair of the AMA Opioid Task Force has been added as a speaker at the Governor’s Opioid Response Summit being held on Monday, July 15 at the Augusta Civic Center.
In observance of the Independence Day holiday, MMA office are closed on Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5.
On June 24, the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) released an updated version of S. 1895, the "Lower Health Care Costs Act," which was considered by the Committee on June 26. Though the bill contains numerous commonsense proposals for lowering the cost of health care, there are significant negative consequences for physicians contained in Title I of the bill, "Ending Surprise Medical Bills."
